This guide explains how to download and install the RagnaVentura Client on Windows.

There are two installation methods available:

  1. Windows Installer — recommended for most players.
  2. Complete Client ZIP — manual installation without using the installer.

Recommended method

We recommend using the Windows Installer.

Option 1 - Windows Installer

Recommended

This method installs RagnaVentura automatically and creates a desktop shortcut for you.

Step 1 - Download the Installer

Download the RagnaVentura Installer from one of the mirrors below:

  1. Mirror 1 - Recommended
  2. Mirror 2

Step 2 - Run the Installer

Double-click:

RagnaVentura-Installer.exe

If Windows asks whether you want to allow the application to make changes to your computer, select:

Yes

Proceed through the installation using the default options:

Next → Next → Finish

Tip

The default installation settings are recommended for most players.

Step 3 - Open RagnaVentura

Once installation is complete, a RagnaVentura shortcut will automatically be created on your Desktop.

Double-click the shortcut to open the RagnaVentura Patcher.

For the first launch, you can also:

  1. Right-click the shortcut.
  2. Select Run as administrator.

Step 4 - Update the Client

When the RagnaVentura Patcher opens, allow it to download and apply any available updates.

Do not close the patcher while an update is running.

Always keep your client updated

We recommend launching RagnaVentura through the patcher so your client can receive the latest files before you play.

Step 5 - Start the Game

Once the patcher has finished updating, click:

START GAME

Your RagnaVentura installation is now ready.

Option 2 - Complete Client ZIP

This option downloads the complete RagnaVentura client as a .zip file.

It does not use the Windows Installer.

You will manually extract the RagnaVentura folder and create your own desktop shortcut.

Step 1 - Download the Client

Download the complete RagnaVentura Client from one of the mirrors below:

  1. Mirror 1 - Recommended
  2. Mirror 2

The download contains the complete RagnaVentura client folder.

Step 2 - Extract the Client

Once the download has completed:

  1. Locate the downloaded .zip file.
  2. Right-click it.
  3. Select Extract All.
  4. Choose where you want to keep RagnaVentura.
  5. Wait until extraction finishes completely.

For example:

C:\Games\RagnaVentura\

Do not run the client from inside the ZIP

The entire client must be extracted before running the patcher.

Step 3 - Find the RagnaVentura Patcher

Open the extracted:

RagnaVentura

folder.

Locate:

RagnaVentura - Patcher

This is the launcher you should use whenever you want to play.

Step 4 - Create a Desktop Shortcut

Because this installation method does not use the Windows Installer, a desktop shortcut is not created automatically.

To create one:

  1. Right-click RagnaVentura - Patcher.
  2. Select Show more options if required.
  3. Select Send to.
  4. Select Desktop (create shortcut).

You should now have a RagnaVentura shortcut on your Desktop.

Use the shortcut

Creating a desktop shortcut means you do not need to browse to the RagnaVentura folder every time you want to play.

Step 5 - Run the Patcher

Right-click the new desktop shortcut and select:

Run as administrator

Allow the patcher to download and apply any available updates.

Step 6 - Start the Game

Once the patcher has finished updating, click:

START GAME

RagnaVentura is now ready to play.

Which Option Should I Choose?

Installation Method Recommended For
Windows Installer Recommended for most players
Complete Client ZIP Players who prefer a manual/portable installation

Windows Installer

Choose this option if you want:

  • Automatic installation
  • A desktop shortcut created automatically
  • The simplest setup process

Complete Client ZIP

Choose this option if you want:

  • No traditional Windows installation
  • Control over where the client folder is stored
  • A portable client folder

With this method, you will need to create the desktop shortcut yourself.

Keeping RagnaVentura Updated

Regardless of which installation method you use, updates are handled through the RagnaVentura Patcher.

Before playing:

  1. Open the RagnaVentura Patcher.
  2. Allow any available updates to finish.
  3. Click START GAME.

You normally do not need to download the complete client again when an update is released.
